Supporters of Karol Nawrocki change their position on issues specified as the ban on abortion of a pregnancy resulting from rape or the introduction of partnerships besides for same-sex people - according to the survey polls Opinion24 for Radio Zet published on Thursday.
Radio Zet added that this may mean that at the crucial minute of the run the structure of the candidate's electorate supported by the PiS is changing, besides pointing out that this phenomenon was not seen among the supporters of the candidate KO for president Rafał Trzaskowski.
The opinion24 in 2 polls conducted before the first and second rounds of the presidential elections examined how the responses of both groups of voters had changed over a period of respective weeks in the subjects on, among others, worldview issues. The first survey was conducted between 2 and 6 April, and the next 1 – between 23 and 26 May, that is, after the first circular of the presidential election held on 18 May.
To the question asked: "What laws submitted by the Sejm should you / you think the president should sign? Prohibiting pregnancy abortion as a consequence of rape?" in the first poll of early April, 16 percent of the voters of Trzaskowski were for this and 80 percent for them. In the next week before the second circular of voters, these proportions spread similarly: 16 percent on yes, 78 percent on them.
In the case of Nawrocki supporters, a candidate supported by PiS, in the first poll 41 percent of respondents replied that they would like to sign a bill establishing changes in abortion law, and 46 percent said they did not. There were less in the second supporters of the change, due to the fact that 27 percent and more opponents – 56 percent.
To the next question: "What laws submitted by the Sejm should you / you think the president should sign? The introduction of partnerships besides for one-sex people?" in the first poll of 81 percent of the voters of Trzaskowski was for yes and 11 percent for them. This study, repeated a week before the second circular of the presidential election, yielded a akin result: 74% for yes, 15% for them.
In the group of voters of Karol Nawrocki, the poll at the beginning of April showed that 12 percent of respondents were in favour of the introduction of partnerships and 82% were against them. A week before the second circular there were 18 percent of respondents for this, and 72 percent for them.
The 3rd question was: "What laws submitted by the Sejm should you / you think the president should sign? Removing crosses from offices?" In the April poll, 59% voted for the introduction of a law that would bring crosses out of the offices, and 28 percent felt that this was not a good idea. In May, 54 percent were on yes, 31 percent on them.
Among Nawrocki supporters, the first poll resulted: 5 percent for yes, 94 percent for them. The results of the survey before the second circular of elections showed that there is precisely 1 tenth of the voter (10%) who declares his support for the PiS candidate. It besides fell to 86 percent of people who are against the removal of Christian symbols from offices, which, in the opinion of the station, may indicate a change of attitude to little conservative or to attract more liberal voters.
Both studies were conducted by Opinion24 commissioned by Radio ZET. The first survey was carried out on a typical example of 1002 Poles at the age of 18 by telephone (CATI) and online (CAWI), the second on a typical example of 1021 Poles at the age of 18 and more utilizing CATI and CAWI methods.
