For the time being, there is no indication that the war in Ukraine will end soon, but the Polish authorities have already informed about the function of Poland in ensuring the safety of Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Paweł Zalewski reported that the safety guarantees prepared in the coalition of the willing supply for the stationing of European troops in the territory of Ukraine and the operation to cover its airspace. As he stressed, this will only be possible after the war with Russia has ended.

Key function of Poland after the war in Ukraine

“Poland will play a key function in this operation, due to the fact that it will make opportunities for the creation of databases, the facilities for those troops that will be in Ukraine, and will organize logistics for these branches, as well as providing airfields for aircraft that will defend Ukrainian sky from Poland”, Paweł Zalewski said on Friday, as quoted by Polsat News.

– Without what Poland offers, there will be no safety guarantees, so Poland's offer is an absolute key to ensuring that the safety guarantees can be fulfilled," indicated the deputy head of the MON.

Western Ukrainian partners developed a preliminary three-part plan to safe the state after the end of the war – late reported "Financial Times", citing diplomatic sources.

Plan of West Ukraine

According to the proposal along the line of demarcation, a demilitarised region would be created, protected by neutral peace forces originating from countries accepted by both Kiev and Moscow. It would be followed by a heavy fortified defensive line cast by Ukrainian troops trained and armed by the NATO army.

The 3rd pillar of the plan would be deterrence forces deployed deeper into Ukraine. They would be commanded by Europe, but reinforced by American strategical support. However, it is the presence of abroad troops in Ukraine that raises doubts about any politicians and public opinion in Europe.

Andrij Jermak, head of the Ukrainian President's office, confirmed the findings of the Financial Times. As he noted, "each state in the coalition will contribute, and the full will be a mix of military, political and economical support".

According to him, talks focus on sending four–five European brigades within the alleged Volunteer Coalition, supported by US strategical resources.
