For the 3rd time in Warsaw, the competition for sports was summarized in the General Command of Armed Forces Types. squad and individual distinctions were awarded in 3 groups: tactical unions, training centers and interior cells DGRSZ. In the first of these groups, the 11th Armour Cavalry Division triumphed for the second time in a row.
– Sport, each of you here knows, shapes characters. Not only physically, but besides mentally," said General Marek Sokołowski, commander-general of types of armed forces during the 3rd Sports Gala General Command of the Russian Federation. As he added, this is very crucial for the Polish Army, both during combat activities and erstwhile soldiers are under stress.
During the gala held at the Museum of the Polish Army in the premises of the Warsaw Citadel, the commander of DGRSZ besides mentioned the division into universal and competitive sport, as well as many soldiers-sportsmen from the second category who service in DGRSZ subordinate units. To all of them, Gen. Sokołowski expressed his gratitude for professionalism and sharing his experience and for becoming idols for amateur sportsmen.
The general besides thanked people who are liable for sports and physical culture in the military and the presidents of Polish sports unions for their cooperation. “Today’s celebration is considered a celebration of athletes in uniform,” said General Piotr Kriese, DGRSZ Training Inspector. He recalled that while soldiers did hard and liable tasks this year during training and the creation of fresh military units, another elements of the military service, including physical education and sport, were not lost sight of another elements of the service. “This year, 173 sporting events in 16 sports disciplines were organized in the General Command,” General Kriese said. As he said, any of them, specified as shooting, cross-country runs or combat sports, are essential in training soldiers in combat. Others are grown due to their popularity, for example, football or basketball.
Strength on the team
As part of a summary of sports competition in DGRSZ in 2025, traditionally squad and individual awards were awarded in 3 groups: tactical unions, training centers and interior cells of DGRSZ.
In the first group, the 11th Armour Cavalry Division triumphed for the second time in a row. Last year The Black Division scored the same number of points as the second in the classification of the 16th Mechanized Division and the triumph was decided by the larger number of first places occupied in the championships in 5 disciplines. This year, however, the battleships with 67 points overtook 14 points of representation of the 18th Mechanized Division.
The 3rd in the classification of 16 DZ lost to 18 DZ just 1 point. This year, in a group of tactical unions, points were competed in football, swimming, cross-country runs, shot-offs, 3x3 basketball and half marathon.
In the second category of squad competition – the training centre championships – the competition included the results of the championship in futsal, swimming, cross-country runs, shot-offs and half marathons. After counting the results of the competitions in these disciplines, the places on the podium, from the highest to the lowest, were occupied by: the Training Centre for Land Forces in Poznań (with the consequence of 38 points), the Training Centre for Rocket and Artillery Forces in Toruń (35) and the Naval Training Centre in Ustka (33). In this category, the order of places on the podium was identical to last year.
On the another hand, sports competition of interior cells DGRSZ won the Training Inspectorate (40 points), before the DGRSZ Staff (35) and the peculiar Forces Component Command (28). The points were competed in stringing, shooting, tennis, badminton and cross-country runs.
Best and inspiring
On stage, the MWP besides honored the best players in individual sports disciplines competing in a group of tactical unions and training centers. On the cross-country course there were distinguished: peculiar Officer Monika Olejarz (12 DZ), Mat Joanna Terefenko (CSMW Ustka), peculiar Officer Michał Groberski (12 DZ) and Plut. Krzysztof Szymanowski (CSWL Poznań).
In half marathon, the best were: Mr Paulina Kaczyńska (12 DZ), matt by Joanna Terefenko (CSMW Usta), st. by Artur Olejarz (12 DZ) and matt by Piotr Bokacz (CSMW Usta). The best swim champions were selected: Ms Monika Kaczmarek (11 DKPanc), matt Katarzyna Truszczyńska-Gzyl (CSMW Ustka), st. sr. spec. Tomasz Polekka (12 DZ) and captain of Mar. Karol Morek (CSMW Ustka).
In turn the MVP championship was selected: in futsal – sergeant. Dawid Takunov (CSSP Koszalin), basketball 3x3 – cf. Paweł Nowicki (11 DKPanc) and football – Fr Norbert Muszka (18 DZ). Piotr Gryciuk (4 SLSz Dęblin) and Captain Michał Granis (CSWL Poznań) got the best results at the shooting range.
During the 3rd Sports Gala DGRSZ, the most efficient soldiers from direct subordinate units and interior cells of DGRSZ were besides awarded, which were selected on the basis of the results of the yearly physical fitness test of professional soldiers. Those who received the maximum points and achieved the best results in full in 3 categories: moving strength, shoulder strength and torso muscles were honored.
The rivalry was won by: Lieutenant Iwona Januszyk (previously an officer in the Military Training and Condition Centre in Zakopane, now in the Central Military Sports Team), Lieutenant Krzysztof Żebrowski (2th Radioelectronic Centre in Przasnysz), bsm. Piotr Kazubski (JW 4026 from Gdynia), plut. Tomasz Janusz (6th Battalion of Command in Krakow), Deputy Paulina Kaczyńska (12th Brigade Mechanized in Szczecin), Deputy Kamil Karski (33rd Transport Aviation Base in Powidz), St. Paweł Zarecki (Division of the Combat Ships in Gdynia), rank: peculiar Norbert Kuczyński (5th Engineering Regiment in Szczecin), Major Mariola Daszkiewicz and por. Piotr Michalak (both interior cells of DGRSZ).
Cups and medals
During the award ceremony, the best athletes from the Air Force squad were besides picked up, who participated in the NATO Air Force Allied Championships in Europe. Ryngrafami was honored: Lt. Dominika Mikulska from the 23rd Tactical Aviation Base in Minsk Mazowiecki, Lt. Kacpra Dama from the 33rd Transport Aviation Base in Powidzno and St.
On the another hand, in the category "Sport's inspiration of the year" were awarded: Colonel Krzysztof Kosieradzki of DGRSZ, Major Margaret Kalita from WOSzK in Zakopane and spit. Mr Stasiak from the 12th Mechanized Brigade in Szczecin. In turn for peculiar sporting achievements, i.e. winning a silver medal in the planet Cup in boxing, a commemorative gutter was awarded Maj. Michał Jarlinski 25th Air Cavalry Brigade.
The cup was besides awarded the best division in the squad run at 3000 m in uniform with a full-time weapon and a pater – its commander. The awards were received by young chor. Sebastian Adasik from EOD 1 squad of the Brest Bombers Regiment. In addition, for their engagement in the organisation of sports competitions, the following were honoured: Colonel Andrzej Cebulak, St. Chor. staff. Jan Głuszuk and St. Chor. staff.
In addition, General Sokolovski has awarded, for his peculiar service in supporting athletics in DGRSZ, the Medal of the 10th anniversary of the General Command of the MSZ: Major Tomasz Traczuk, Head of the Section for Physical Education and athletics 11 DKPanc, Major Piotr Stojanowski, Head of the Section of WF and athletics 2 Tactical Aviation Wings in Poznań, Łukasz Dzioch, Mayor of Dziwnow, Jacek Klimecki, Local Government from Dziwnów Municipality, Krzysztof Wiłkomirski, president of the Polish Union of Judo and Tomasz Jopek, head of the national squad of judo.
Prior to the gala, an agreement was signed between Warsaw Capital City and the General Command of the RSZ on detailed conditions and modes of cooperation in the implementation of activities promoting physical culture, patriotic attitudes and military service. The papers were signed by Gen. Sokołowski and Katarzyna Łegiewicz, the manager of the Capital Sports Centre "Active Warsaw".
