It's a climate

You will read about how the changing climate affects the actions of soldiers and the safety situation, as well as about the disastrous effects of wars on nature in the latest July issue of "Polish Armed Forces". I besides urge interviews concerning, among others, the 1st Legion Infantry Division, threats in cyberspace and the fight against the alleged shadow fleet.

Climate change is having increasingly serious consequences for the world. Combating them inactive requires fresh forces and resources, including military ones. For example, events in the last fewer days prove this. Soldiers, among others, were active in helping people affected by fires in Crete and Turkey.

There are many more examples of how changing climates affect military activities. Just look at Kosovo. The country has been affected by devastating fires and floods in fresh years. Therefore, soldiers stationed in Pristina as part of the Natovian KFOR mission, in addition to mandate tasks, increasingly support the local population in removing the effects of natural disasters.

The situation is no better in the far north. Located behind the Rovajärvi Arctic ellipse is the main artillery field of the Finnish army and at the same time 1 of the largest in Northern Europe. Training has been conducted there for about 200 days a year, but with climate change the situation has become more complicated. Average temperature, air humidity and precipitation increase. But the number of days with snow and frost is drastically reduced. This not only makes it hard for the military to conduct training in winter conditions, but besides complicates the usage of the full field centre. More akin examples – including those from the Fenix operations – can be found in the text “Capsitive Adversary”.

The changing climate and its impact on safety are the subject of the July edition of the “Polish Armed Forces”, but of course not the only one. In the magazine, we print materials on eco-crime, and so catastrophic to the natural effects of wars. We besides compose about tensions between Iran and Israel, about the Kashmir War and hard relations between India and Pakistan. We besides study on events from the NATO summit in The Hague.

In addition, we focus on strictly military matters, namely tactics, training and weapons. I encourage you to read texts about Batlops maneuvers and many interviews. Journalists of “Polish Armed Forces” discuss, among others, with Gen. Dyw Karol Molenda about attacks on military cyber infrastructure, and with Gen. Dyw. Norbert Ivanowski about the creation of the 1st Legion Infantry Division. On the another hand, what “the shadow float” carries the dangers in the Baltic and how to fight it is told by Dr. kmdr hab. Darius Bugajski.
