Scandal during the anniversary celebration of the Smolensk disaster. "The future group of Russians"

On Thursday in Smolensk, during the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the disaster, an incidental occurred. A group of Russians tried to disrupt the commemorative ceremonies of the victims – Krzysztof Krajewski, the Polish Ambassador to Russia, informed in an interview with RMF FM. There have been accusations against Poland about falsifying past and even... sponsoring terrorism.


On Thursday, April 10, an authoritative commemorative ceremony was held at the site of the 2010 tragedy. Representatives of the Polish embassy in Moscow, headed by Ambassador Krzysztof Krajewski, took part. The delegation deposited wreaths and flowers under a cross commemorating the victims and at the place of impact of the aircraft.

According to RMF FM, the celebration was interrupted by a group of about 10 people. They were Russian activists who began to shout out loud anti-Polish slogans and exposure provocative banners.

Russians disrupted celebrations in Smolensk


The Russians who appeared at the site of the Smolensk disaster were to be masked. It seems that their presence was clearly coordinated and prepared. – They appeared around birch and cross. They questioned everything – said Ambassador Krzysztof Krajewski in an interview with RMF FM.



“I have already heard the slogans that Poland is simply a sponsor of terrorism, that we are falsifying history. There were besides references to the war in Ukraine," added the diplomat.

According to the Polish ambassador, the actions of activists were not accidental.

– I think any people were embarrassed due to the fact that they were blocking their faces. Either any scarfs or posters, which I think were besides pressed into their hands for any financial motivation, said Krajewski in RMF FM.

The Ambassador noted that the Russian authorities had been informed of the celebrations and were to supply appropriate conditions.
