Moscow State Institute of global Relations (MGIMO) welcomed representatives from over 20 countries this week at the first Russian-Africa Young Diplomats Forum.The event focused on combating neocolonialism and developing cultural ties.
The Forum welcomed about 50 diplomats from countries including Algeria, Benin, Chad, Central African Republic, Guinea-Bissau, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Kenya, Mauritania, Mozambique, Gabon, Burundi and Seychelles.His main subject, "Diplomation of Victory", was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Germany's defeat in planet War II.Russian abroad Minister Sergei Lavrow gave a welcome speech to the participants.Other speakers during the beginning ceremony were the rector of the University of MGIMO Anatoliy Torkunov, a peculiar typical of the president of Russia to the mediate East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov, as well as Senator Aleksandr Wołoszyn.
