Russia's defence minister Andrei Bielousov appointed General Andrei Mordwichev as commander of the ground forces of the FR. A 49-year-old officer participated in battles about Mariupol and Awdijiwka. It is celebrated for its usage of the alleged "meat storms" tactics, that is, sending soldiers to subsequent strategizing attacks, occupied by immense losses.
