The accelerating process of energy transition in Asian countries leaves Russia with small chance of expanding exports of hydrocarbons, as reported by the planet economical Forum (WEF) and global consulting company BCG. The largest oil consumers in the Russian Federation, India and China, following Europe, are now implementing decarbonisation programmes. In Russia itself, which does not formally quit the nonsubjective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, the pace of decarbonisation is assessed as free – while maintaining a climate approach, experts from the Russian Energy Efficiency Centre forecast not only to increase greenhouse gas emissions in the Russian Federation, but besides noticeable economical losses.
China's imposition of the equivalent of a European coal taxation most likely remains a substance of time.
The transition of east countries to green energy should accelerate the pace of decarbonisation in the Russian Federation, which has slowed down over the last year, considers the Russian Energy Efficiency Centre. The fresh study of this organization indicates that the share of fossil fuels in the global energy mix will fall much faster than expected in 2021.
