Putin on top of China. German journalists ask about Russia's isolation

Vladimir Putin's presence among the leaders at the regional safety summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, which is simply a kind of counterweight for NATO, is the subject of German press comments.

"Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" warns: "India approaches China alternatively of being counterweight to Beijing. Things are good for Putin as well. Trump virtually laid out a red carpet before him, without weakening Russia's alliance with China in a noticeable way.

At the same time, Washington is seemingly trying to blame Europeans for the fact that the U.S. President's efforts to make peace fail. There is no uncertainty that many European politicians do not want to go as far as Trump. But the point is somewhere else.

It is Putin who is most hard for Trump to carry out his plans: by continuing the assault war and the policy of maximum demands. The fact that the White home does not want to see this shows how superficial the Washington administration is nowadays."

"Stuttgarter Zeitung" analyses: "China and India have been looking at each another highly critically for decades. Border disputes and the fight for dominance in Asia are ongoing. The archenemy of China, the Dalai Lama, lives in exile in India. And India's unloved neighbor, Pakistan, has a close relation with Beijing. However, Trump's customs policy is now the reason why both countries are seeking convergence again.

India, which has so far been geopolitically clearly on the US side, suffers from advanced charges that they gotta pay for technology exports. Therefore, China's leader Xi Jinping believes that the best script would be if 'the elephant and dragon' danced together in the future".

"Reutlinger Generalanzeiger" notes: "It has frequently been predicted that a large tripartite alliance between Russia, China and India will not happen, or even if it does, it will not last long. However, since the last large war, most likely never before, the framework conditions for it have not been as favourable as they are today. Never before has the West been so divided and divided.

Never before have European countries been in specified a precarious political situation. Western capitalism has never before lost so much importance on a global scale. And never before has the large brother from across the ocean been as unpredictable as today."

According to "Maerkische Oderzeitung" from Frankfurt on Oder: "Russia isolated? Not at all! This is precisely the message that will carry photos and videos from your centre in the coming days: Putin among about 20 of its counterparts at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit – a kind of counterweight to NATO. Putin with powerful leaders of China and India. Putin during the Beijing military parade. These photos besides say: we are doing large without you, America and Europo".
