The presidential run is gaining momentum, and election committees compete for public support. Presidential candidates intensify the collection of signatures, trying to exceed the required 100,000 votes. The bars of Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski guarantee that they will cross this threshold with respect. Meanwhile, Sławomir Mentzen has already officially registered his start, earning 250,000 signatures.
Record support or political theater? Presidential candidates collect signatures
The first phase of the electoral procedure is the registration of the electoral committee, for which 1000 signatures are needed. There are 21 candidates at this stage. The next step is to collect 100,000 signatures by April 4, which is simply a condition for an authoritative start in the presidential election.
The bars of the largest groups convince that public support will exceed the erstwhile records. Andrzej Plum from Karol Nawrocki's staff, a candidate supported by the Law and Justice, ensures that the number of signatures collected is "twice as much" as in erstwhile campaigns. Dorota Łoboda, representing Rafał Trzaskowski's staff, stresses that the collection of signatures is an chance to contact voters straight and to strengthen the campaign.

Mentzen headed, others chasing
So far, the only officially registered candidate is Sławomir Mentzen, who delivered 250,000 signatures to PKW. The staff of another candidates approach the race for signatures in different ways. Simon Holown's staff representative, Mariol Rzepek, points out that their goal is not to "come to a record", but to formally meet the electoral requirements.
Currently there are 21 committees on the PKW list, including candidates with a wide recognisable background, specified as Trzaskowski, Hołownia or Braun, but besides politicians little famous, specified as Maciej Maciak or Romuald Starosielec. any of them are just fighting for the required signatures, and any committees request to correct formal errors, as in the case of Catherine Cichos.
Pre-election mobilization
The presidential election will be held on 18 May and the eventual second circular will be held on 1 June. Until then, the staff will fight not only for signatures, but above all for the designation of their candidates. Politicians usage the collection as a tool for mobilising voters, as can be seen in the field activity of PiS and KO.
