A contract was signed extending until the end of 2034 the licence to produce Roomak Wheel Armored Transporters between Rosomak S.A. and the Finnish company Patria. – This means unchangeable production and service of this equipment, which is the basic equipment of the Polish Army – said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The earlier licence was valid until 2028.
The ceremony of signing the licence agreement was held at the office of the Polish Armed Forces Group with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The paper was signed by Cezary Dominik, president of the Management Board of Rosomak S.A. subject to PGZ, and Jussi Järvinen, Vice president of the Management Board of Finnish company Patria. Extension of the licence to produce these wagons until 31 December 2034 is simply a continuation the current agreementwhich would expire at the end of 2028. As the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out, the contract signed in advance means unchangeable production of the Rosomaks, which are the basic equipment of the Polish Army.
“This is simply a strategical agreement,” said the head of the MON and stressed that it includes the Rosomaki in all versions and with all available weapons, including the medical version, for the needs of the Military Counterintelligence Service, for operations related to command or transport of soldiers.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the contract for servicing these wagons was valid until 2064. “So we are looking forward to not only reducing our production capabilities, but besides upgrading our equipment,” said Kosiniak-Kamysz. He besides recalled that the cooperation with the Finnish company dates back to the beginning of the century, and today's ceremony is another step in strengthening production capacity in Rosomak S.A., transferring technology, but besides making the contract more flexible.
Jussi Järvinen besides spoke about this flexibility, pointing out that it concerns the modification and modernisation of equipment and making its sales more flexible. Konrad Gołota, Deputy Minister of State Assets, stressed that the government jointly plans to modernise the Polish armed forces, thanks to which the Polish defence manufacture can develop.
Adam Leszkiewicz, president of PGZ, pointed out that Rosomaki is 1 of the contacts of the Group and the Polish armory. He pointed out that the negotiated agreement contained a number of provisions applicable to the PGZ and its function in this partnership. According to the document, Rosomak S.A. gained the right to upgrade and modify vehicles, including the introduction of fresh versions of these vehicles.
The paper besides includes a clause that, in a crisis situation, erstwhile Patria will not be able to supply components for the production of Rosomak vehicles, the Polish company can straight get them from their suppliers. It can besides produce them on its own, and then Patria is obliged to hand over the technology to Poles. In addition, Rosomak S.A. can freely sale vehicles under the SAFE programme.
KTO Rosomak created under the Finnish Patria licence is produced by Rosomak S.A. in Siemianowice Śląski. The company offers, among others, transporters in combat version, medical evacuation (WEM), command cars, military or method recognition.
