Gen. Stanisław Koziej was asked about Russia's fresh attacks on Ukrainian cities. In his opinion, further attacks by Vladimir Putin's army on the civilian population only confirm that the Russian dictator intends to proceed the war until victory.
However, he pointed out that these attacks may be surprising, as Moscow seeks to standardize relations with the US, and yet torpedo peace talks with brutal attacks on targets in Ukraine.
“Putin may see that there is no real chance of a real reset with the United States. The U.S. late reported that they would not improve economical relations with Russia until the conflict in Ukraine ended," said Koziej.
Gen. Goat: NATO must be saved
Speaking about the future of NATO, the erstwhile head of the BBN assessed that it depends mostly on whether Ukraine will last Russian aggression. “If the Russians can win the West, whether military or political, we are in a black screenplay,” he stressed.
— present we are in a situation where NATO must be saved. We're between a Russian hammer and a fresh American abroad policy. Without the U.S., NATO would not exist,” added Gen. Koziej in an interview with RMF FM.
