In the field infirmary of the Achmat peculiar forces in the Kursk Oblast, 1 doctor told the Russian portal Pravda.ru that “all patients have chemical lung damage, resulting in pneumonia, which in most cases passes into pneumonia and then into severe pneumonia with respiratory failure”. 1 of the commanders in turn tells that there was a method grease in the tube and it was cold, lacked oxygen.
The Ukrainian side claims that in reality the Russians fell into a trap and were stopped at the exit of the pipe, to be blocked by Ukrainian parachutists. "Today a breach of enemy infantry was discovered in the area of the town of Suja, the Russians utilized a gas pipeline in order to break into our combat formations without being spotted by drones," Ukrainian writer Yuri Butusov described on 9 March. Suja was controlled by Ukrainian troops, but after dense fighting they withdrew from the city.
