Radosław Sikorski reported on 16 July that Russian drones hit the Barlinek Group mill in Winnica. 2 people were badly burned. Ukrainian services reported that 8 people were hospitalized. The drones hit 2 civilian industrial facilities.
Large-scale fires broke out as a consequence of the attack, but the service managed to control them. It was besides reported that 4 residential buildings were damaged in the region. On Thursday, the Polish MFA issued a fresh communication on this issue.
Attack on the mill of the Polish Barlinek Group. MFA: "It's a violation of global law"
Ministry of abroad Affairs spokesperson Paweł Wroński told on Thursday on platform X that the ministry "Communicated to the typical of the Embassy of the Russian Federation that the attack on the Barlinek mill in Winnica, which is Polish owned and exclusively engaged in civilian production, is simply a violation of global law".
Let us remind that already on Wednesday Radosław Sikorski commented on the attack, defining it as follows: "Putin's criminal war is approaching our borders".
Barlinek Group belongs to a well-known Pole
The Polish mill hit by Russian drones belongs to the Barlinek Group, a maker of layered wooden floors with yearly production possible exceeding 12 million sqm per year.
The company exports its products to 75 countries, including the United States, Canada, European and Asian countries. Barlinek has factories in Poland, Ukraine and Romania, as well as offices in Germany and the USA. The company is based in Kielce and owned by Michał Solovow.
Solovov is 1 of the richest Poles. According to this year's Forbes magazine ranking, his assets are estimated at PLN 28.11 billion. Solovov besides controls another well-known brands specified as Synthos, Comfort, Homla and Cersanit, acting mainly in the chemical industry, interior fittings and sanitary ceramics production.
