PIAP huntsman in a fresh version on MSPO

In the combat version of PIAP HUNTeR, it has an arms strategy developed by AREX (owned by WB Groups) equipped with an unmanned ZMU-05 tower with a dense device weapon of 12.7 mm caliber and smoke grenade launchers. Thanks to hybrid drive, the vehicle is able to scope 50 km/h. The maximum distance that can be reached without charging and at full refueling is 450 km.

Useful for engineering troops

At XXXIV global Defence manufacture Exhibition in Kielce Łukasiewicz-PIAP presents a fresh variant of this platform – with a mounted overhead mine strategy developed by Bydgoszcz Electromechanical Plant Belma SA (used so far in vehicles Baobab-K). We're showing the possible of this vehicle. Thanks to the modular design, it gives the anticipation to install just specified a mine system, or even two, due to the fact that PIAP huntsman can carry even a one-tone load, which besides increases the anticipation of utilizing it. To date, we have presented him as a transport platform or as a reconnaissance and combat mission, but he can besides carry out the tasks of engineering troops – explains Adam Szepczyński from Łukasiewicz-PIAP.
The version presented on this year's MSPO features an anti-tank mine launcher, containing 20 barrels with 5 mines each.

A soldier operating the vehicle can choice a suitable location for mining through a sensor strategy – including PTZ day-night cameras (turnover in each plane, allowing zooming) – and indicate them on a map uploaded to the device's strategy and then execute the operation unmannedly. The full operation of the mine strategy can be performed straight with the control panel of the PIAP huntsman robot. The launchers shall let for a 30-90 m wide strip to be mined on the sides of the vehicle.

He'll know and miss

– The robot is able to operate in a circumstantial area indicated to it by the operator, so it can execute for example patrol functions. Among the PIAP huntsman sensor strategy are, among others, 3D cameras, allowing to find the form of the object that the vehicle has in front of it and the distance from it. “For example, it can bypass the obstacle itself, even if the fallen tree, the wreckage of the car, etc., which will not be visible on the map, but PIAP huntsman will detect it itself thanks to sensors”, explains Adam Szepczyński.

The equipment has already gained interest from the armed forces of various states. The Polish Army tested vehicles, among others, as part of the exercises "Digital Legionnaire". The Italian army, who besides tested them at CEPOLISPE (Centro Polifunzionale di Sperimentazione dell’Esercito) in Montelibretti close Rome, as part of the experimental run HEDI OPEX 2025, organized by the European Defence Agency (EDA).

The unmanned Belma mine strategy on the PIAP huntsman chassis was previously presented at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, where it could be seen at the position of the Polish Armed Forces Group.
