During the main legislature of the opposition TISZA organization held in Budapest on Saturday, Magyar estimated that the increase in the popularity of the opposition was primarily due to the government's actions. “Victor Orban is the reason for everything we have come to now,” he added, adding that Orban’s main counter-candidate in the next election would not be just him, but a much stronger entity — the Hungarian people.
The politician added that he fights not only for his own sake, but besides for future generations. The TISZA organization leader one more time accused the current Hungarian government of corruption, mismanagement and illegal activities. “Fidesz is simply a torpedo that wants to sink our country’s ship,” he added, explaining that the strategy created by Orban “is charming, directing and governing, but its only goal is to enrich the clan.”
Magyar revealed the program
Announcing the withdrawal from Fidesz Party's power, Magyar besides made a number of electoral promises. Among these were the freezing of public debt, the suspension of the sale of national assets, the valorisation of pensions, the construction of retirement homes, the increase in wages, taxation reliefs, the simplification of bureaucracy and the imposition of taxes on the most wealthy politicians. He devoted quite a few space to agriculture by announcing, among others, the creation of a peculiar fund supporting the smallest localities, expanding the cattle population and lowering VAT on vegetables, fruit and firewood.
The subject of the healthcare strategy was besides not lacking. The cure for wellness problems is not only to fund the sector, but besides to decentralise it, to support medical education in the improvement of public wellness programmes, to increase the budget of the pharmaceutical fund or to thoroughly improvement medical rescue. In education, Magyar wants to focus on a fresh national curriculum, equal quality education for all children, or restoring university autonomy.
In summing up his speech, the leader of the TISZA organization stated that changes to the electoral code should be considered, so as to limit the power of 1 cabinet to a maximum of 2 terms.
On Saturday, respective 1000 people arrived at the Budapest Hungexpo complex for the TISZA organization congress. In addition to Peter Magyar, his co-workers and known figures supporting the activities of the largest opposition organization besides performed during the congress.
