Paweł Kukiz can change the club again. Backroom talks are going on

Paweł Kukiz, a erstwhile rockman and rebel who in 2015 shook the political scene by gaining 20.8% in the first circular of the presidential election, draws attention again today. Although the influences of politics have weakened considerably, he has not yet said the last word. According to the "Rzeczpospolita" findings, talks are ongoing between Kukiz and Confederate politicians. Does this mean that the erstwhile Kukiz’15 leader will change club colors?

Although it has been almost 10 years since Kukiz's debut in large politics, his name is inactive emotional. After the success of 2015, his Kukiz’15 movement gradually lost its meaning – that's why the politician "searched his way". He first got into the Sejm with a PSL letter, then ( disregarding his voters) completely changed the front and joined the ranks of the Law and Justice. Today, Kukiz is part of the Free Republicans – a tiny parliamentary ellipse which is co-founded by Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski and Marek Jakubiak – so was Marek Jakubiak, who competes as a presidential candidate.

The problem is that this group has no chance of surviving independently in the Sejm, and according to the "Rzeczpospolita" information, Kukiz conducts backstage talks with Confederate politicians. Aim? Possible joint start in elections or at least close-up.

– I am simply talking to all political option that is in the Sejm and has the intention of changing the political bases in the post-communist strategy of Poland," said Kukiz quoted by "Rzeczpospolita".

Kukiz and Confederacy: a common front?

Although Paul Kukiz does not clearly indicate his direction, his fresh statements propose an always closer approach to the Confederacy. On the Polsat News program, he stated that "The Confederacy has a chance to do what I failed to accomplish". In social media, politicians went further – he wrote that the Law and Justice should resign from Karol Nawrocki as a presidential candidate and support Sławomir Mentzen from the Confederate.

This entry appeared only a fewer days before the next motion of sympathy – Kukiz took the Confederate candidate publically in defence after a loud judgement of the court, who felt Mentzen was speaking untruth and ordered him to apologize to Simon Holown. He besides criticised Justice Minister Adam Bodnar, suggesting that he "should be sent to Bachmut".

As "Rzeczpospolita" writes: specified statements are not made for free. And the political sources of the paper confirm: Kukiz is indeed to hold regular talks with Confederate politicians.

The Confederacy likes Kukiza. "Kukiz built many of us"

The closeness of these relations is confirmed by MP Kukiz’15 Jarosław Sachajko, who betrayed ‘Rzeczpospolita’, that the leader of his group regularly contacts Stanisław Tyszka, a Euro MP of the Confederate, who began his political career with Kukiz’15 in 2015.

– Besides, there are more people in the Confederation who have been created thanks to Paul Kukiz," Sachaiko noted in a conversation with the Republic of Poland. "We are presently focusing on building Free Republicans, but different scenarios are possible," he added. Kukiz and his colleagues know that without a stronger partner, it will be hard to come back.

Kukiz in the Sejm – will he join the Confederacy?

Paweł Kukiz had already had his minute of glory, and his entry into politics was for many a symbol of rebellion towards the organization arrangement. Although later his formation was dependent on taking off with letters of larger parties, rockman inactive remains a recognizable face – and as suggested in his article "Rzeczpospolita" it may be an asset the Confederate does not want to miss.

There are no authoritative declarations so far, but as Kukiza's political past has shown us, everything can happen.
