Gamrat, a specialist in rocket fuel production, has received a fresh scanner for rocket engines, propulsion systems and high-energy materials. The Centre for Non-destructive investigation has expanded and modernised the existing RTG investigation process, and the investment will let for non-invasive control of the quality of the company's products.
– The beginning of the fresh Non-destructive investigation Centre increases investigation and manufacturing possible not only of Gamrat, but of the full Polish Armed Forces Group – said Adam Leszkiewicz, president of the PGZ-et, during the beginning ceremony of the centre. As he added, this is peculiarly important, as PGZ 2026 declared "Year for rockets" and focuses on the intensive improvement of national rocket potential.
– We are expanding the capabilities of rockets, late launched the state-of-the-art manufacturing and service centre of rocket systems, signed and negotiated further agreements allowing the production of rocket components in Poland. This investment is 1 of the elements of this strategy," said Leszkiewicz.
Grzegorz Wrona, Deputy Minister of State Assets, attended the ceremony on 15 May, called the construction of a fresh centre an excellent example of expanding Polish security. He besides recalled that the investment was carried out in the spirit of the "local content" project, in which Polish companies served as a technological coordinator, with the support of specialised abroad suppliers.
Mariusz Baluka, president ‘Gamrat’ peculiar Production Plant In Jasle, he stressed that the investment was made in a evidence time of 9 months and contributes to the improvement of national technological competences in the area of safety and defence industry. “The fresh centre importantly improves the efficiency, stableness and quality of the RDG inspection process, creating a solid basis for further improvement of the company”, stressed Baluk.
The investment has modernised and expanded the existing RDG investigation process. One-part manual position replaced a modern, full automated strategy containing 3 independent x-ray cabins. The strategy was integrated into the transport system, which is liable for loading, positioning and unloading pallets without the engagement of the operator.
The pallets are automatically steered into free cabins, allowing optimal burden of the full system. This reduces downtime and increased efficiency and control of the full process. The fresh infrastructure allows to scan rocket engines, high-energy products and propulsion systems based on composite fuels.
As provided in the PGZ Communication, the radiographic software utilized at the centre ensures full control of image quality, compliance with global standards and automatic documentation of parameters, which improves reliability and repeatability of results. The contractor of the task was a Polish company Casp strategy Sp. z o.o., providing non-destructive investigating equipment and software. The full investment worth PLN 11 million was realised from the own resources of ‘Gamrat’.
ZPS ‘Gamrat’ specialises in the production of solid rocket, artillery and mortar powder nitroglycerin-nitrocellulose and pyrotechnic products. It besides has extended infrastructure for the production of homogenous and heterogeneous propulsion loads, i.e. 2 main categories of solid propellants. The company has extended laboratory facilities enabling comprehensive analysis of physico-chemical properties and defectoscopy (non-destructive tests detecting material defects) of the products offered.
