"Nitro-Chem" and Grupa Azota join forces

Coordination of supplies of natural materials essential for the manufacture of explosives, cooperation in the plan of production lines and joint efforts for the construction of TNT installations: “Nitro-Chem” company belonging to the Polish Armed Forces Group and Grupa Azota signed a letter of intent concerning cooperation in the manufacture of explosives.


"Nitro-Chem" SA is the largest maker of TNT in this part of Europe. The company that is part of the Polish Armed Forces Group is not only the largest supplier of TNT for the Polish military and national defence manufacture producing ammunition, but besides 1 of the largest abroad suppliers TNT suppliers for the US Army And the armory there.

As request for ammunition and combat measures has increased rapidly in fresh years, the company is taking steps to increase its capacity. On Wednesday, August 13, an agreement was concluded in Bydgoszcz between “Nitro-Chem” and Grupa Azoty. In the letter of intent, both companies declared that they would not only coordinate the supply of natural materials essential for the manufacture of explosives, but besides jointly designed production lines of combat agents and together sought funds for their construction.

The paper was signed by the president Arkadiusz Miszuk and Karol Przybyszewski, associate of the board of the Bydgoszcz company, while the president Andrzej Skolmowski and his deputy Paweł Bielski signed from the Azota Group.

– The agreement is an expression of our commitment to building strong Polish competences in the area of industrial chemistry and explosives. We welcome the partnership that opens up fresh perspectives for innovative projects and the improvement of method competences," comments Arkadiusz Miszuk, who is the head of the "Nitro-Chemu" board.


In turn, president Andrzej Skolmowski pointed out that the Azota Group has been a trading partner of “Nitro-Chemu” for many years and provides “the essential products for the manufacture of explosives, specified as concentrated nitric acid and nitroses”. – Now we want to extend this cooperation to exchange experience and further build up of substantive competences concerning advanced energy materials. In the capital group we have task offices specialised in implementing specified chemical projects. We do not exclude a deeper commitment to the task – said Andrzej Skolmowski.

Present at the ceremony in Bydgoszcz President of PGZ-etu Adam Leszkiewicz stressed that closer cooperation with the Azota Group was natural and very desirable for the holding's ammunition plans. – As Polish Armed Forces Group We are determined to increase national production capacity in 155 mm ammunition as shortly as possible. Design of 3 ammunition factories, thanks to the grant of backing from the Capital Investment Fund, is already implemented and we are consistently implementing the assumptions of the business plan. Cooperation with the Azota Group is an additional component of the ammunition project, which aims to guarantee even greater sovereignty of supplies, in this case in the context of TNT, as assured by the president of the PGZ-et.
