

In Hakan Fidan's opinion, Israel seeks to make Syria a divided and unstable country. The politician quoted by the agency of Anadol commented on the situation in Syria after the clashes that occurred in the south of the country last week.

Turkey warns Israel
Intervention was criticised last week by Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying that "it will not let the division of Syria or the violation of its multicultural structure and territorial integrity." According to him, the Israeli authorities “use druzes as a pretext to extend bandit activities to neighboring Syria”.
– We inform that no group (in Syria) should engage in national division efforts," Fidan said on Tuesday. “Any action that could lead to fragmentation and destabilization will be regarded by Ankara as a direct threat to our safety and will trigger our intervention,” noted the head of the Turkish Ministry of abroad Affairs.
Turkey is simply a key ally of Syria, led by interim president Ahmed al-Shara. Ankara supported part of the militia for years, which yet overturned the government of the Asad family, and then committed to helping rebuild the state after more than a 10-year war. The authorities in Ankara are besides seeking to let the return of millions of Syrian refugees residing in Turkey.
