"At a mediocre rate of income implementation and a increasing scale of spending, the budget deficit will further increase, putting us at hazard of deterioration in debt and further deviating from the alleged Maastricht requirements and safe levels of public finances. The question is not whether and erstwhile we exceed the threshold of 60% of public debt in relation to GDP. More and more shows that specified risks will materialise later this year." - writes Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

"In the period January – June 2025, the gross of the state budget amounted to PLN 264.3 billion and was lower by about PLN 39.6 billion (i.e. 13.0%) compared to the same period last year. The budget deficit amounted to as much as PLN 119.7 billion. This means that all day the Tusk government owed us over PLN 661 million" - says Morawiecki.
