The Attaché Association, bringing together accredited representatives of abroad consulates in Poland, gave a check for 50 1000 zlotys to the Association “The Package for a Hero”. “We are convinced that helping veterans of planet War II is more than a motion – it is our duty, our expression of gratitude and respect,” said Colonel Frank Ennen, vice-dean of the organization.
– 50 1000 zł, which we gave to the Association “Pack for a Hero” is proof that we can unite around noble ideas and do good together”, said Colonel Frank Ennen, vice president of the association of military diplomats, during the ceremony organized in the Department of Military abroad Affairs of the MON. He besides thanked everyone who threw their brick into the check.
The officer recalled the character of Albert Schweitzer, a German philosopher, doctor and Nobel Peace Prize winner for 1952, quoting his words: "It is essential to do something, even the smallest, for those who request help; something that will not bring any reward, but the joy of having the chance to do so."
Olga Kierzkowska, Regional Coordinator of the Association, thanked for the support received “The Package for a Hero”. She besides revealed the intent of the funds received. “This year we are going to organize a journey for 50 combatants to the Polish sea, for weekly rehabilitation and recreation holidays,” she said. She recalled that the organization's mission is to support planet War II veterans, Warsaw insurgents, to soldiers Independence Underground and those who were repressed. Those who gave up youth and wellness for the freedom we have today. – They fought for us, present we fight for them – stressed the typical of “Packs for a Hero”.
The money collected by military diplomats came from 2 sources: a bidding organised at the military attaché ball in March 2025 and a charity fair organized in December 2024 at the Polish Army Field Ordinariat by the “Syrena Spouses” Association, which brings together 39 women of military diplomats.
– We integrate defence attaché wives accredited in Poland, and we besides organize a charity fair erstwhile a year. The funds collected in this way are donated to charity, says Lidia Hanak-Ennen, president of the “Sirena Spouses” Association. At specified a fair, the wife of the military attaché is presented with stands with products and handicrafts from their countries. “From 2024 to 2025 we donated the funds we had raised for the “Pack for a Hero” Association,” adds the head of the organization.
In erstwhile years, the Attaché Association accredited in Poland besides organized balls during which auctions were held, and the wives of military diplomats raised funds at charitable outdoor events. The money was passed on to children of Polish veterans and fallen soldiers, as well as Ukrainian orphanswhich, while fleeing Russian aggression, went to Poland.
