The Kyrgyz paper Radio Free Europe (Radio Azattic) reports that 4 people were detained in Kyrgyzstan in connection with the recruitment of mercenaries to the Russian army.
The press office of the court for Bishkek's first-majsk district, which issued the decision to apply a preventive measurement in the form of detention, gave journalists only the initials of the detainees. It is known that the substance was initiated by the National safety Committee (GKNB).
Azattic radio determined that 1 of the people arrested was Natalia Sekerina, an worker of the Russian home in the city of Osz. The second defendant, Sergei Lapushkin, works in the press service of the city office Osz. The names of the 2 another persons active are unknown.
In 2023, Kyrgyzstan sentenced a man named Askar Kubanyczbek Uulu to 10 years in prison. In his native country, he was accused of participating in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. After issuing the sentence, Kubanyczbek Uulu turned to the Russian authorities, after which the conviction was relaxed and released on condition that he would stand twice a period at the safety station. In the summertime of 2024, Kubanyczbek Uulu fled to Russia and again headed for the front.
