Emergency landing of the aircraft, injured jumpers and pilot, collision on the airport plate – it is not scenes from the film, but a realistic script of the exercise "MASŁÓW–25" which took place on 24 June at the airport in Masłów. Soldiers of the 10th Świętokrzyska Territorial Defence Brigade and all key safety and rescue services in the region were active in the rescue efforts.
According to the assumptions of the exercise, the aircraft failed during the flight. The pilot, despite limited communications, gave information to 2 parachute jumpers on board who safely left the machine. The location of their landing remains unknown. Due to unfavourable weather conditions – morning fog and limited visibility – the pilot decided to land an emergency.
During the approach to the runway there was a collision with a method vehicle parked next to it. As a consequence of the collision, pilots and vehicle driver were injured. The first units of the State Fire Service from Kielce arrived, supported by the Volunteer Fire Service from Maslov. The firemen extinguished the burning wreck of the plane and gave first aid to the victims. The wounded were then transferred to the teams of the State Medical Rescue.
The airport area was secured by the Kielce Police. In parallel, an intensive search was launched to find the missing jumpers. This task was entrusted to the Ground Search and Rescue squad of the 10th Świętokrzyska Territorial Defence Brigade, which operated in cooperation with police Prevention Branch officers.
Modern technologies have besides been involved. Thanks to cooperation with the Polish Army of Drons Foundation, the search area was monitored from the air by unmanned aircraft, which in real-time transmitted the image to rescue teams. The pilots of the Aeroclub of Kielce, who were preparing for training flights, besides declared assistance in the activities. A service typical (NZPR group leader) active in the operation was taken on board 1 of the 3 aircraft.
As a consequence of localization activities, search teams reported uncovering 2 jumpers in the area of the Cedzin flood. Unfortunately, everyone was injured. They were first helped by soldiers of the Territorial defence Army, and were then transported to the nearest medical facility.
The mission of the Świętokrzyskie Territories is to support the local community. I welcome the good cooperation between all emergency services and non-military links of public administration. This kind of exercise allows us to improve procedures that truly improve the safety of residents of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship - emphasised Colonel Sławomir MACHNIEWICZ commander of 10 ŚBOT.
The MASŁÓW-25 exercise was intended to check the readiness and effectiveness of emergency consequence services. The importance of civil-military cooperation and the increasing function of modern technologies in search and rescue actions were besides highlighted.
Ground Search and Rescue Teams (NZPR) is 1 of the elements of the crisis management system. They are intended to assist crews and aircraft passengers who have crashed. Their task is to find the location of the accident, to supply first aid, to safe traces and to defend property and equipment. The thought of NZPR is to support society not only in the event of aircraft accidents, but besides in situations of threat to wellness and human life. The NZPRs are, of course, included in the ASAR Air Search and Rescue strategy - added Lieutenant Stanislaw SORBIAN, exercise coordinator.
Territorial Defence Forces are implementing the process of achieving the capability to carry out tasks as intended. 1 of the key areas is the ability to respond to crises and to aid local communities. The WOT Crisis Management strategy is an integral part of the Crisis Management strategy of the National Defence hotel (SZK RON).10 The Świętokrzyska Brigade of Territorial Defence in the framework of its Permanent Region of work carries out tasks included in the RON Crisis Management Plan. Commander of the 10th Świętokrzyskie Region is the coordinator of the Crisis Management strategy of the National Defence Resort.
