Latvia will double the number of fresh BWPs

The Latvian Ministry of Defence signed [in January](https://defence24.pl/power-arms/aircraft-buys-fighting-cars-person-from-Spain) a €370 million contract with General Dynamics European Land Systems – Santa Bárbara Sistemas for the supply of 42 fighting infantry wagons based on the ASCOD/ASCOD 2 platform. They will be equipped with [Israeli unmanned tower strategy UT30 Mk2 produced by Elbit Systems](https://defence24.pl/industry/Israeli-wieze-for-Latvian-bw-ordered). Partial production and assembly are to be carried out by the local industry, in peculiar [a plant located in Valmiery](https://defence24.pl/industry/aircraft-manufacturing-manufacturing- heavy-bwp), owned by Defence Partnership Latvia SIA.
