At the age of 82, Leo Beenhakker died – a selector of the Polish football squad from 2006-2009. In the past of Polish athletics he enrolled, among others, in the fact that under his care the Polish representation won a historical promotion to the 2007 European Championship.
Beenhakker worked as a trainer in many football clubs from the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. In 1987-89, Real Madrid, led by him, recorded many successes – the Spanish championship and the King's Cup.
In tribute to the Dutch trainer all meetings of the 28th extraclass football line will begin a minute of silence. Beenhakker is besides greeted by footballers – including Robert Lewandowski, who during his tenure began his adventure in the White-Red team:
