Information about the negotiations was provided, among others, by the South Korean service Chosun Biz and the mediate east defence Arabic, suggesting Egypt's interest in South Korean weapons due to its performance and transportation speed. The acquisition of K239 Chunmoo would affect technology transfer and local production (at least partial). The value of the possible deal and how much Egypt would have chosen to get the launcher is unknown.
