The Confederation presented an embargo on Ukrainian products

On Tuesday, a press conference of the Confederation was held, during which Krzysztof Bosak, Anna Bryłka and Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik presented a draft regulation that would introduce embargoes on Ukrainian products specified as cereals, sugar meat and alcohol and tobacco.

During today's press conference, Krzysztof Bosak, Anna Bryłka and Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik presented an embargo on Ukrainian products. A regulation has been presented which politicians believe the Polish government should adopt in order to solve the crisis in the agricultural sector. The Deputy Marshal stated that the current crisis in the food and agricultural sector has been going on for a long time and is the consequence of Brussels' impact on the Polish agricultural sector. The impact was caused by the breach of the basic promise given by the European Union, namely the promise of Brussels to take over agricultural and trade policy and to stabilise agricultural markets. Krzysztof Bosak stressed that the European Union has opened up the European marketplace for products from Ukraine without any analysis or calculation, thus causing a deep crisis that has lasted for the second year in the Polish agricultural economy.

EThe charmers have absolutely nothing to offer Polish farmers. And the Polish politicians are saying: apply a political solution. erstwhile they say that, they mean, put out the protests by bribing protesters. But why should we, as Polish taxpayers, be active in corrupting another manufacture to destruct it? This was already done by Brussels with miners. Are we expected to do the same with farmers now? It's not our agreement.

The function of us, as Polish politicians, is to follow our people. And our people are at the border right now! There they protest, there they fight for their survival, there they fight for the endurance of Polish food production, for Polish food security, for the stableness of the Polish market, for the quality of products available in the agricultural sector. For wellness government that is in force in the European Union does not apply in Ukraine. Large amounts of substances have been utilized in the Union since the 1990s. And now, erstwhile Minister Siekierski or Minister Kołodziejczak or another government officials say that nothing can be done, we say: Liar! You can! – Krzysztof Bosak during a Tuesday press conference.

About the draft regulation prohibiting imports of agricultural goods from Ukraine, the Polish marketplace was discussed by Anna Bryłka. She stated that the proposed regulation is incompatible with EU law, as is incompatible with Union law is now in force, of 15 September 2023, which prohibits the import of only 4 goods. Anna Bryłka stressed that in fresh days farmers have besides revealed a number of irregularities related to the import of agri-food products. First of all, deficiency of quality control.

The results of the NIK inspection study clearly state that the simplification in quality control of entering agricultural goods from Ukraine was under the orders of the Minister of Agriculture! Another component of the irregularity: the usage of cereals and rapeseed for purposes another than those specified in the customs declaration. There are besides specified irregularities! And above all, what the erstwhile government is constantly referring to, and present, or transit. There is no specified thing as transit, it is besides clear from the investigation carried out by the NIK, i.e. between March and April 2022 and March 2023 4 million tonnes of cereals entered Poland, from which only 700 000 tonnes of cereals were included in the transit, and our opinion on this substance is besides shared by the European Commission, which clearly said that exports from Ukraine through Poland are completely unprofitable!

This help, due to the fact that the ruling organization says that we must aid – the erstwhile and present – aid Ukraine. This aid does not go to Ukraine, this aid goes to Ukrainian agroholdings with global capital, which, despite the war, simply evidence immense revenues. In January, the European Commission, and this is fraud against farmers, in January the European Commission presented another draft regulation on duty-free trade between the European Union and Ukraine, by June 2025. It is nothing more than a fraud of Polish farmers and European farmers. Why? due to the fact that there are import limits for only 3 commodities: sugar, poultrymeat and eggs. Only that the limits were set at mention years 2022-2023 erstwhile this import from Ukraine was highest! And so, before the war, the import quota for sugar was 20 000 tonnes, in 2023 470 000 tonnes of sugar entered the European Union as a whole, and the limit set on the basis of this proposal for a regulation would be 320 000 tonnes! Which is 16 times more than before the war. This is 1 large scam - Anna Bryłka during a press conference.

Below we present the draft regulation proposed by the Confederation and the list of products to be covered by the embargo:
