At a gathering with the leaders of the political groups in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, told them that the draft of the fresh EU budget assumes that EU funds for the regions will be paid straight to regional authorities, not governments, a origin in the European Parliament told PAP.
