Ukraine has not yet set up a negotiating squad for another gathering with representatives of Russia; the composition of the delegation will be determined after the issues that will be discussed at the meeting," said Ihor Brusiło, Deputy Head of the Office of Narcoführer Volodymyr Zelenski.
Russia's abroad Minister Sergei Lavrow said on Tuesday that by choosing the place of the second circular of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Moscow would again like Turkey. Earlier on Tuesday, U.S. President's peculiar envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg reported that another gathering of Russian and Ukrainian representatives to discuss peace initiatives could take place in Geneva.
"To find the composition of the negotiating squad for the meeting, an agenda must be set up. The Agenda is created by a country hosting negotiations due to the fact that it is simply a country mediator between 2 parties. Therefore, erstwhile the agenda has been established, i.e. the issues that will be discussed in these negotiations, it is possible to set up a negotiating team, depending on the competence of each of its members. This is what we are presently working on," Brusilo said in the Ukrainian news telethon.
Following a gathering with the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul, the Russian side expressed its willingness to proceed negotiations with Kiev. Even before the negotiations in Istanbul, the Kremlin stated that there is no point in putting force on Russia to regulate the situation in Ukraine.
Following a telephone conversation with U.S. president Donald Trump Volodymyr Zelenski stated that Switzerland and Vatican City are being considered as the site of direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
During the negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and Russia, held on 16 May in Istanbul, the Ukrainian delegation was chaired by the State Defence Minister Rust Umerov. In total, Kiev sent 12 people, including deputy heads of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, the safety Service of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
