History repeats itself. For the 3rd time in a row Poland will have a president from the Law and Justice camp. The current situation is very akin to the 2020 election. Now besides Trzaskowski lost by a hair.
In the second circular of the 2020 election, the turnout was 68.18 percent. Poles gave 20 636 635 votes. Of this, 10 440 648 was given to Andrzej Duda. This meant that 51.03% of voters voted for him. Rafał Trzaskowski received 10,018,263 votes, or 48.97 percent. The difference was 422,385 votes.
Now, however, attendance was much higher. It reached 71.63 percent, i.e. by over 3 percent points more. The results were very akin to those of 5 years ago.
On 1 June, 21,033 457 people voted. Karol Nawrocki received 10,606,628 votes, or 50,89 percent. It was about 206 1000 more than Andrzej Duda had received 5 years earlier. In turn Rafał Trzaskowski got 10 237 177 (49.11 percent). That's almost 219,000 more than 5 years ago. Both candidates (or camps) increased their voters' base. However, the difference between them reached 369 451 votes.
In absolute figures it can be seen that attendance has increased, the voters' base of both candidates has increased. But despite the simplification of distance, Trzaskowski failed to full fill the difference between the voices that separated him and the triumph over Andrzej Duda.
