Several 100 soldiers of the 1st Pomeranian Logistics Brigade took part in the exercise “Strong Metallege 25”, which besides included armored and mechanized troops. Logistics for 10 days carried out transport tasks in northern Poland. The script included population migration, air strikes or the usage of weapons of mass destruction.
The main nonsubjective of the "Strong Metastatic" was to test the planning and execution of tasks in the field. logistical safety for operational troops during a combined defence operation. The head of the exercise was Colonel Krzysztof Klin, commander of the 1st Pomeranian Logistics Brigade (1 BLog). Activities in the field were preceded by the Staff exercises “Fighting Metastasis 25”.
Several 100 1 BLog soldiers took part in the exercises, including representatives of DZSW and active and passive reserve. Pomorska Jedynka in the course of exercises lasting from 20 to 30 May worked with 1 Warsaw Armoured Brigade and 20 Mechanized Brigade. There was no shortage of transport tasks which active the request to carry dense equipment: Abrams tanks and Leopard Or combat infantry cars. The 11th Battalion of Evacuation of Equipment subject to the Bydgoszcz brigade was liable for this part of the exercise.
– The main issues pursued during the exercise included, among another things, the organisation of the logistics strategy under operational conditions, as well as ensuring continuity of material supplies. The exercises were aimed not only at checking the readiness of logistics to support combat activities, but besides at their ability to respond rapidly in a dynamically changing operating environment," explains Lieutenant Marzenkiewicz, press officer 1 BLog.
The work of logistics was to collect, receive, store and distribute material. In total, they performed about 30 transport tasks in the area of northern Poland, from east to western border, carrying almost 450 t of cargo. The script did not relate straight to the current geopolitical situation, although the simulated events were realistic.
– The screenplay provided a wide spectrum of opportunities that could meet soldiers during action. We trained to check the preparation for fulfilling our duties in hard crisis conditions – says Colonel Artur Frost, commander of the 1st Logistics Battalion from Bydgoszcz. So his soldiers had to deal not only with the long transport of dense equipment, but besides field medicineT. In addition, respond to chemical events with poisons, irritants, etc. They besides responded to air strikes.
– In addition, there was a fight against fire or tiny sabotage groups that tried to disrupt our operations. Moreover, the script took into account factors specified as population migration, which besides importantly influence the operation of military logistics," Lt Col. Frost explains. “The task force did not know what they would face. So they had to be prepared for everything. Lieutenant Rozenkiewicz adds that the logistics of the “Pomorskie Jedyna” did well, which confirmed their advanced level of training and readiness to act.
The 1st Logistics Brigade is straight subordinate to the Head of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate. It is designed to carry out tasks for Polish military quotas outside the country and to safe logistical troops, units and institutions in the area of work of IWSZ. Brigadiers have repeatedly participated in the fight against natural disasters, including during Operation Fenix.
