– This is the hardest of my erstwhile speeches, for a simple reason – the global situation is the most hard in decades – started his exposé Radosław Sikorski

– Today, the planet is becoming little predictable: border war, changes in global power and global economical and political crises make stability, which we are utilized to in Europe, resists fresh challenges. In Polish houses there was anxiety and the question: What will happen?. Are we besides in danger of Russian aggression? Are Europe's relations with the United States moving towards a crisis? Can Europe rapidly rise its defence capabilities? – said the Minister of abroad Affairs.

In mention to the upcoming thousandth anniversary of Bolesław Chrobry's coronation, Sikorski stated that "like our fathers in the city, we must have the wisdom to choose the right partners and make effective alliances."

Sikorski pointed out that the current geopolitical order, which is part of the European Union and NATO, gives Poland what it lacked in the past. – Perseverance, real impact on shaping European and global policies to the degree of our potential. Therefore, the task of Polish diplomacy is to strengthen these organisations, not to undermine their legitimacy. The rule is simple: Poland alone is Poland weakened. The community gives strength. Power gives safety – the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs argued.

Expose Radosław Sikorski: European stableness is under force from fresh challenges

– The global environment is little predictable than 20 years ago, but Poland is stronger. We are a stronger NATO alliance and a associate of the European Union. Let us repeat this: membership in these organizations does not limit Polish sovereignty, but helps to defend sovereignty – Sikorski pointed out.

He assessed that Poland is better prepared for hard times than would be "a lonely island, outside networks of military, political and economical alliances".

The head of the MFA stated that the current possible of all NATO associate states, counted in the funds spent on defence, was nearly 1.5 billion, or $1,500 billion, and Russia's defence budget was about $145 billion.

The Minister ruled that Poland was able to rebuild “order in the sphere of global relations”. “Poland’s abroad policy does not search to incite disputes where they service nothing. We are guided by a cold reality assessment, proposing ambitious but realistic solutions. And in order to realise them, we work with countries that follow akin values," said Sikorski.

The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs stated that the “Polish brand” within the Presidency of the European Union is present security, sovereignty and leadership. He pointed out that leaders should communicate with the public, not scaring him, but at the same time not embellishing the reality.

The breakdown of the Western community is the biggest threat to Poland

Radosław Sikorski stressed that the top danger for our country would be the breakdown of the Western community. He pointed out that in the current situation we could not stand idle due to the fact that “we cannot afford to be alone.” The Minister of abroad Affairs noted that the war in Ukraine is the origin of expanding uncertainty, but besides the consequence of changes taking place for a long time.

– The fresh revisionism and the old application undermine the global order based on law, which is the basis for Poland's development. They rise questions about the sustainability of the foundations of our security, i.e. the European community and transatlantic cooperation – said the minister.

As he emphasized, for Poland, 4 trends are most undesirable: the division of the planet into spheres of influence alternatively of zones of alliances; the departure of global standards – above all respect for sovereignty – to return to a stronger law; the weakening of global organisations for bilateral relations based on transactional thinking; disinformation equalising fact and falsehood in public debate.

Sikorski stated that the most crucial objectives of Polish abroad policy are to strengthen Europe's defence capabilities and keep the unity and transatlantic cooperation, including close cooperation with the US. "In our contacts with the American administration, we consistently present arguments indicating the benefits of maintaining a strong presence in Europe, and in peculiar in Poland," he said.

Sikorski to the Russian Government: You will never regulation here again.

Radosław Sikorski spoke on Vladimir Putin's imperialist ambitions. He quoted the words of Russian politician and propagandaist Alexander Dugin, who claimed that "there is no place on the Eurasian continent for Poland". The Minister stated that "the fact of violent conquest does not establish ownership".

– The Russian right to Warsaw is just as legitimate as our right to Smolensk, due to the fact that we besides ruled there for about a 100 years – he pointed out.

At 1 point he addressed the Russian government directly. Times have changed. For Lord's Powers (Aleksandra) Dugina I have news: you will never regulation here again – neither in Kiev, nor in Vilnius, nor in Riga, nor in Tallinn, nor in Chisinau – he said.

Minister of abroad Affairs: Poland will not send troops to Ukraine

The head of the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs stressed that Poland will not send troops to Ukraine as part of a peace mission, but will supply possible mission support. He reminded that until present Poland has provided Kiev with 45 aid packages worth about EUR 4 billion, and now deliveries are starting under the 46th package.

Sikorski besides stressed that Poland is taking on the burden and risks associated with providing training and logistics facilities for military assistance to Ukraine. He mentioned in this context, among others, the Combined Centre for Analysis, Training and Education of NATO-Ukraine (JATEC) in Bydgoszcz, which "will draw on the experiences of Ukrainian forces".

He noted that Poland itself trained nearly 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers, or about 1 3rd of all who had received training organised by EU countries.

The Minister recalled that Polish borders should not only be defended against possible aggression from Russia, but besides against illegal migration. He pointed out that the governments of the United Right left chaos in migration policy, culminating in the visa scandal.

– As early as January 2024, I suspended the operation of the "Poland. Business Harbour", a program launched in 2020 to facilitate access to the Polish labour marketplace for employees from the IT manufacture from Belarus, and later besides from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan," he said.

Sikorski on US activities: We request cooperation, not trade war.

Sikorski besides referred to the actions of the American administration taken towards the European Union. He indicated how Europe should respond to the United States.

– In consequence to the steps taken by Washington to hit the economical interests of the associate States, the European Union must respond intelligently and unequivocally. The answer should be proportionate and Europe should always be open to talks and ready to put up with barriers. This attitude is promoted by the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union – said the minister, adding that the "transatlantic family" needs cooperation, not trade war.

The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs besides addressed critics of closer cooperation with the European Union. – Do you truly want the European Union to become just a customs union? That's what you say. Your Hungarian allies and Ordo Iuris are already laying down a programme of American think-tank aimed at mobilising the power of the US to deprive the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. Is that what you want? Do you truly think that Poland will be stronger without a strong Union? – Sikorski asked.
