New plans for the Steel Wola Huta. The company intends to manufacture gearboxes for its own weapons systems – the cannonhaubic Krabs and Borsuk combat vehicles. To gain know-how, a letter of intent was signed with American company Allison Transmission Inc., a world-renowned maker of propulsion systems.
Almost all US military vehicles, both wheeled and caterpillar, starting with Abrams tanks, through the M109 Paladin cannonhaubice, up to the JLTV mini-resistant vehicles, they are driven by transmissions produced by Allison Transmission Inc. Their quality is demonstrated by the fact that the transmission of this company is utilized not only by Americans, but besides by armies around the planet and by arms companies. Allison Transmission products are utilized for example in Boxer transporters manufactured by the French-German KNDS company and Eitan transporters, manufactured by the Israeli company IMI Systems. A crucial user of American gearboxes is the Polish army. It is equipped with both military equipment which was bought in the USA and constructions of Polish armory – for example crab cannonhaubice, armored transporters Rosomac whether only vehicles entering service Reconstitutive tick (formerly Beaver 3).
Soon American transmissions will be produced in Poland. Company Huta Stalowa Wola – belonging to the Polish Armed Forces Group – she announced that she signed with Allison Transmission Inc. a letter of intent on the production and service of propulsion systems for HSW vehicles and systems. The paper predicts that the U.S. company will first supply Huta with cognition and technology for the production and servicing of gearboxes intended for caterpillar vehicles, i.e. to a fresh combat infantry car Badger, cannonhaubic Krab and cannonhaubic K9 erstwhile their production begins in Poland.
The gearboxes are to be created in the Drive Teams Department, which has been owned by HSW since 2023. As Wojciech Kęrzyż stressed, president of Huta Stalowa Wola, Allison's transmission production will be started gradually in Huta. – The process of producing crates in Steel Wola will begin with the installation of ready-to-use boxes, and then the individual elements are to be produced up to the full box – he explained at the ceremony, during which he signed the letter of intent with Brian Geiselhart, manager of global licensing and partnership Allison Transmission Inc.
Huta Stalowa Wola SA is the largest in our part of Europe and at the same time 1 of the largest producers of artillery systems on the Old Continent. In its halls are produced, among others, 155-millimeter cannonohaubice Krab and Cancers, or 120-millimeter automatic mortars on the chassis of KTO Rosomak.
