Even 10,000 soldiers of various types of armed forces will be active in Operation Horizon. Together with police officers and Railway Guard, they will defender railway lines, among others, to prevent diversion acts. This is simply a reaction to incidents that occurred a fewer days ago erstwhile Russian-related perpetrators damaged the tracks on the Warsaw–Lublin railway route.
Operation Horizon announced during the afternoon press conference the heads of the MON, the Ministry of abroad Affairs and the General Staff of the HR. As planned, it should start on November 21. "The fresh acts of diversion have shown that the cooperation of services subordinate to the Home Minister with the armed forces, with peculiar emphasis on territorial defence troops, must be even closer," argued Deputy Prime Minister and National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. As an example, he gave the countries of western Europe. "In the European capitals, you can frequently meet soldiers on the streets, observe extra-military actions. Poland is ready for this. We have the 3rd largest army. It's been a couple of hours with the Railway Guard. Territorials patrol railway lines and places that are most susceptible to diversion actions and sabotage – reminded the deputy chief of the government. These actions will now be extended and structured.
The operation will include 10,000 soldiers from various types of armed forces and Cyberspace defence Army Command. It will cover the territory of all Poland and will be directed by the operational commander General weapon Maciej Klish. Soldiers together with officials under the Ministry of abroad Affairs will make organizational groups. The supervision will include delicate railway lines and transport infrastructure facilities. Operation Horizon follows the events of the last weekend.
