At Jagiellonian Square in Radom, the exhibition “100 years of Arms mill – For Country, Society, City” prepared on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the “Łuknik” weapon mill – Radom was held.
The exhibition shows the 100-year past of the mill – both as a maker of weapons for the needs of the Polish Army and an institution which has been included in the social, cultural and economical scenery of Radom for years.
– This Jubilee is simply a time of pride for us, but besides of reflection and gratitude to those who for decades have created the power of the Weapons Factory. This exhibition is simply a bow towards their work and commitment – says Seweryn Figurski, president of the Management Board of the “Łuknik” weapon mill – Radom sp. z o.o.
The exhibition, created by Przemysław Bednarczyk (scenario) and Marcin Kucewicz (graphic design), consists of 10 spatial cubists, each of whom presents 1 decade of activity of the plant. 1 can see, among others, the silhouettes of soldiers from a given era with weapons produced in the Weapons Factory, examples of weapons from individual years and boards showing social and civilian activity of the plant.
– We wanted to show the mill not only as an arms manufacturer, but as an institution powerfully rooted in the local community – from athletics to method education – says Daniel Wilk, associate of the Management Board of the weapon mill “Łucznik” – Radom sp. z o.o.
We hope that the exhibition will meet with large interest of erstwhile and current employees, past enthusiasts and residents of Radom.
– It is simply a journey through history, but besides through emotion – for many it is individual memories related to the Factory, military service or household traditions – says Jakub Święba, associate of the Management Board of the weapon mill “Łucznik” – Radom sp. z o.o.
The exhibition will be available in Jagiello Square until November and was designed in a visually attractive way – for both conscious visitors and random passersby.
The exhibition is the beginning of the culmination of the jubilee events – on Friday, June 7th in Jagiello Square there will be a household picnic connected with the performance of the stars of the Polish music scene. It will be an chance to celebrate together the 100th anniversary of the Weapons mill in an atmosphere of joy, memories and fun.
