“Heros of Steel” at the Polish Military Museum

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Citadel Warszawska turned into a vibrant centre of history, modern military method and popular culture. The event “Heros of Steel”, organized by the Polish Military Museum, attracted residents of Warsaw and visitors from all over the country. Turnout added – the event was visited by military enthusiasts, comic fans, past lovers and full families.

One of the biggest attractions of the event was the public presentation of the K2 Black Panther tank – a modern giant of combat technology, which aroused large interest and became the background of countless commemorative photographs. Next to it were presented historical armored equipment, as well as first airmen uniforms from different eras. The exhibition devoted to the conflict of Monte Cassino, prepared jointly with the Archive of fresh Acts, was besides a success. The reflective part of the event was met with large interest of visitors, who appreciated the educational value of the exhibition.

The event besides had its place at the present time – modern military vehicles, aviation equipment, promotional stands of military universities and defence institutions attracted more visitors. There were besides fans of modeling, for which a peculiar region with military models and miniature diorams were prepared.

One of the biggest hits of the event was the premiere of the comic book "Pilot chopper – To the Rescue", which after years returned in a fresh installment. Participation in meetings with legends of the Polish comic book – Grzegorz Rosinski and Marek Szyszko – was a dream come actual for many guests. Crowds of volunteers lined up for autographs, and comics workshops and the stock exchange enjoyed unwavering interest throughout the day.

There were besides attractions for the youngest. A game and play zone, competitions, photograph booth with knightly helmets, swords, replicas of weapons and uniforms and the COBI Mega Block region – they were places full of laughter and creative fun. Children (and not only!) eagerly built their versions of military vehicles, learning the past and principles of military technology.

At the end – conventional military peas from the field cuisine, which tasted exceptionally after an intense day full of impressions.

The “Heros of Steel” proved to be not only a celebration of militarism, but besides a real household adventure that combined education with entertainment. The Polish Military Museum has again proven that past can be exciting, modern and accessible to everyone. Thank you all and... see you at the next event!
