‘GROM. There is specified a force" is an album that was created on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the elite unit of the peculiar Forces. The title refers to the message of Colonel Piotr Gąstał, 1 of the commanders of the GROM, who erstwhile stated: "The Polish citizen should be aware that erstwhile he finds himself in the event of a life-threatening situation, there is simply a force in Poland to appeal for him".

– I picked 96 photographs. Many of them could have been seen earlier, but any were never published. They show a communicative divided according to the key of 4 elements: land, air, water and fire, due to the fact that in each of them GROM implements its actions – says Michał Niwicz, photojournalist “Polish Armed Forces”. He spent quite a few time with the soldiers of an elite unit. He has been accompanying them for years – starting from selectionWhen they effort to gain the right to wear a flash badge, after an global exercise. Michał Niwicz and Ewa Korsak as the only journalists accompanied specialists during training in Jordan. Photographs of these exercises were besides included in the album.
– It papers the last 5 years of the unit's activities. We show unique pictures of Black Hawk helicopters, combat boats, base course photographs, aerial exercises... – says Ewa Korsak, manager of the Military Publishing Institute and journalist, who worked together with Michał Niwicz on the publication. – My favourite photograph presents helicopter landing gear for boats. This is simply a beautiful photograph, but above all it reflects what is unique and most valuable in GROM: cooperation between soldiers and trust. essential to accomplish the task," she adds. This is 1 of those photos that was created in utmost conditions. – Water captures are peculiarly difficult. Sometimes there's immense waves, the boat hangs out, and we just... It happened that after specified work the lens was to be replaced – says Michał Niwicz.
The images collected in the album are unique due to the fact that peculiar units, specified as GROM, reluctantly let close to photojournalists. This requires not only the approval of the command, but besides the assurance of the operators themselves. “When I first discussed this substance with the press spokesman, he told me that it would take us... 10 years. I have been photographing soldiers since nine, so it can be said that I am slow approaching the end of the trial period – jokes Michał Niwicz. He does not hide that the work of a photojournalist documenting the operation of a peculiar unit is difficult. There is simply a rule: soldiers and their tasks are the most important, not a good shot. Still, excellent pictures are not missing.
– Michael has known this environment well for years. He knows the procedure and the rules, he knows erstwhile he can catch the camera, and erstwhile he should put it aside. Thanks to this, realistic, inconceivable pictures were created, showing how the soldiers of GROM truly work," emphasized Ewa Korsak.
