PKW rejects the PiS report
In August 2024, PKW rejected the financial study of the PiS electoral committee for the parliamentary election of 2023, indicating irregularities in spending funds for the run of PLN 3.6 million. This decision could have resulted in the failure of the PiS's subsidy for the operation of the party, amounting to about PLN 75 million for the next 3 years.
PiS Appeal and ultimate Court Decision
The Law and Justice have challenged the decision to the ultimate Court. On 11 December 2024, the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs considered the complaint of the Law and Justice to be valid, indicating that the PCW should have carried out a fresh evidence investigation.
The Court stressed that PKW did not take into account the difference between the audit of the electoral committee's accounts and the audit of the political party's report. Opponents of this decision claimed that it was issued with the aid of alleged neo-judges, so it should not have the power of action.
Further activities of PKW and the position of Minister of Finance
On 30 December 2024, PKW, following the resolution of the SN, adopted the financial study of the PiS Committee from the 2023 parliamentary elections. At the same time, the committee pointed out that it does not prejudge whether the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of SN is simply a court within the meaning of the Polish Constitution.
Finance Minister Andrzej Domański asked PKW to interpret its resolution on the study of the PiS Committee, pointing to its interior contradiction. PKW was not able to supply a uniform consequence and so 3 different options were submitted to the Ministry of Finance. The head of PKW Sylwester Marciniak besides sent a letter to the finance minister requesting information about the execution of financial transfers for the Law and Justice Office.
Criticism by Grabca
Jan Grabic He criticised the president of PKW Sylwester Marciniak, stating that "he should step out of the function of the PiS spokesperson and take up the function of the president of PKW". He besides stressed that the Minister of Finance could not take any steps and pay out the money without a clear resolution of the PCW, which is not there.
