Gawkowski about the cyber attack on the PO. "He was about to compromise Trzaskovsky"

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski in the "One-on-one" program referred to the fresh cyber attack on the Civic Platform. Prime Minister Donald Tusk had previously informed about the incident. Gawkowski stated that the mark of the attack was to compromise Rafał Trzaskowski.


On Friday (4 April), Deputy Prime Minister was a guest of Agata Adamek on TVN24. The lead asked him about a cyber attack the media has been reporting in fresh days. Krzysztof Gawkowski replied, "We have identified that the attack came from groups that are related to Russian and Belarusian intelligence. Especially with the Russian GRU group, or military intelligence.

The Minister of Digitalism stressed that the services already know the names of these groups. As he pointed out, the attack "was to lead to an attack on the closest collaborators of Rafał Trzaskowski and the presidential candidate himself".

Gawkowski added that the attack was aimed at compromising Trzaskowski. “This failed due to the fact that the protective umbrella worked,” he said. He besides pointed out that cyber attacks happen all day. “There are reports all minute,” said the minister.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, more than 600 1000 incidents were reported in Poland in 2024. “We are, as Poles, the most attacked state in the European Union. Poland is at a hybrid war with Russia," Gawkowski stressed.

Agata Adamek besides asked the Deputy Prime Minister who he thought would be in the second circular of the presidential election. Gawkowski replied that it would be Magdalena Biejat, a candidate of the Left, who he saw in a clash with Trzaskowski. After that answer, the leader burst into laughter.
