France: Not adequate atomic deterrence heads?

The French atomic deterrence strategy, developed continuously since the 1960s, is based on 2 pillars: sea and air. The deficiency of a land component means giving up a classical atomic triad. Instead, France has chosen mobility, secrecy and political and operational independence. The full atomic arsenal remains outside NATO structures and under the full control of the president of the Republic.
