In 35 military units in various parts of Poland, volunteers will be present present who want to know the basics of the soldier's profession. The 4th turnus of voluntary essential military service begins this year. Nearly 2.5 1000 people will participate. The training will end with a military oath.

– The interest in voluntary primary military service is great. For this year's 4th turnus almost 2.5 1000 administrative decisions were issued about the appointment of volunteers for training, says cf. Michał Gełej, Press Secretary Central Military Recruitment Center. He adds that among people who wear uniform today, 23 percent are women. In total, military recruitment centres have already issued over 15.3 1000 decisions on appointments to DZSW this year.
Volunteers will train in 35 military units throughout the country. For 27 days, they will learn how to usage weapons, learn drill rules, and gain basic military skills. At that time, they'll be chipped.

During the basic training, WCR representatives collect information on the professional plans and predispositions of participants to offer them circumstantial service allocations. After taking an oath, anyone may terminate the service by supplying an active or passive reserve, or proceed specialised training that takes up to 11 months. During this training you can rise your qualifications free of charge and get e.g. a driving licence. C, C+E, D, authorization of a specialist device operator, diver or parachute jumper. During the second phase of the voluntary essential military service, there is no work to consign in a military unit.

Voluntary Basic Military Service was introduced in 2022. all year the number of people curious in this form of training and service in the armed forces is increasing. The Ministry of National Defence is thus gradually expanding the number of vocations. In 2024, 32 350 volunteers were called up for basic training, and 11 250 people from the passive reserve were specialised – the interest was so large that MON increased the planned limits within a year. In 2025, the ministry wants to appoint 39,700 volunteers to DZSW, of which 4,700 are the limits of places for those educated at military universities.

According to the end of last year, any 78,990 people have been trained as part of voluntary basic service. Nearly 32,000 after training, the ranks of the professional army joined. The remainder of them went to reserve after taking their oath.

The next primary training in DZSW will begin this year: 9 June, 14 July, 18 August, 29 September and 17 November. Those curious may apply to military recruitment centres. The basic conditions are three: 1 must be an adult, have Polish citizenship and not be punished for intentional crimes. During the recruitment process, the military besides checks the physical and intellectual ability of the candidate to carry out military service.
