Due to the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran, the Polish government is preparing to evacuate citizens in the mediate East. At the same time, MFA Deputy Władysław T. Bartoszewski recalls that for months there has been a informing about travel to the region, and those who decided to go there did so “on their own responsibility”.
"Don't go to threatened areas" – Government appeal
Deputy Head of the MFA in conversation with Polsat News stressed that the government had long recommended avoiding travel to the mediate East.
– We're ready at any moment. The problem is, for respective months now, we've been talking about people who don't necessarily should be in Israel, Jordan or the mediate East, absolutely not going there. “Bartoszewski said.

– For weeks now, we've been asking you not to go to this area, and erstwhile individual goes there, it's on your own responsibility. As a government, as a MFA, we cannot be held liable for the reckless conduct of our beloved countrymen (...). We expected problems in the mediate East and said, “Do not go to these countries”.
Evacuation: Military and civilian flights, but “not very easy to fly”
Bartoszewski reported that Ministry of Defence under Władysław Kosiniak-Kamisha is ready to organize evacuation flights, both military and civilian. However, the current conditions in the region stay a problem.

Information chaos: ‘MFA arranges evacuation’ or ‘no evacuation’?
The issue of the evacuation of Poles from the mediate East caused controversy due to conflicting messages. Jan Grabić, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, announced on Sunday on platform X:
"MFA organizes evacuation of Polish citizens from the mediate East. Both military flights and civilian aviation are being prepared, if the conditions allow. Return to the country is free of charge’.
In the meantime, the same Ministry of abroad Affairs in the authoritative release denied that it would organise any evacuation. This discrepancy caused a wave of criticism about the government.
