It seemed that Poland (No)Ład raised the level of surveillance, taxation burden and bureaucracy of Polish entrepreneurs to specified a advanced level that it would be hard to jump it soon. Turns out, no. In the shadow of war, preparations for elections and holidays, a bill was pushed through, which should rise considerable concerns and opposition, and passed without much echo. It is the National strategy of e-Faktur, or alleged KseF, which leaves us (possibly) the outgoing power.
The strategy itself is not fresh due to the fact that it has been in place since the beginning of 2022. However, there has been a tiny but very crucial change. Until now, joining the KSeF has been voluntary. As of 1 July 2024, any entrepreneur who has paid VAT must accede to it (those who have not paid VAT since 1 January 2025). This means that all 1 of them will gotta pass through the ELECTRONIC strategy in which it will be stored for 10 years. Moreover, each individual and immediately, not as it has been so far, that the entrepreneur sent a summary all month.
Many websites, headed by the government, study on the advantages of the fresh solution. These can be brought to respective terms: speed, ease, transparency, convenience, more effective collection and simplification of VAT manipulation. And it must be said that these arguments have strong grounds. Indeed, KseF surely improves existing procedures, which saves quite a few time and energy, reducing formalities. That's a plus. But almost everyone forgets that it is not an perfect system.
In addition to specified shortcomings as: greater complications for tiny entrepreneurs, method problems (e.g. failure) and only 1 invoice format (although different needs), another comes first – the National e-Factur strategy will become a very strong tool for greater surveillance and control of Polish companies. Let us add regular attempts (the last fortunately failed) to reduce the limit on cash payments and increase employers' costs by constantly raising the minimum wage. Is this expected to be a policy that rewards home businesses?
In addition to the various circumstances that distract the public, 1 intellectual trick helped to introduce a bill to the dying (not)government: a hold in time. This play almost always has an astonishingly calming effect and gives a deceptive sense of security. That is why it is worth mentioning and explaining it now.
I besides wonder if the opposition, which opposed jointly and severally introduced changes, now, having the chance to undo them. Although that would be great, it's hard to believe.
