The services shall examine the circumstances of incidents concerning the demolition of railway tracks and traction in Mazovia and Lublin. “Very abundant evidence will rapidly verify the perpetrators,” said the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs Marcin Kierwiński. “The probability of this happening on behalf of abroad services is very high,” says Tomasz Siemoniak, the coordinator of peculiar services.
At the Ministry of abroad Affairs there was a gathering devoted to acts of diversion which took place on the Warsaw- Lublin railway route. The gathering was attended by Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński, Minister-Coordinator of peculiar Services Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek and Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak.
At a press conference after the meeting, the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs reported that there were 2 acts of diversion. 1 of them, in Mika is already confirmed by the service. As he said, “there is no uncertainty that there has been an explosive firing that has damaged the railway tracks.” Experts working on the site confirmed this. Marcin Kierwiński stressed that very abundant evidence had been secured, which he thought would rapidly scope the perpetrators of the “this shameful act of diversion”. These include surveillance footage and materials found at the scene.
The minister reported that on Sunday around 9:30 p.m., 2 further events were confirmed, this time in Lublin, close Puławy. On the same railway line there was harm to the energy traction at about 60 m long. And a fewer 100 meters further, a metallic arm was discovered on the railway tracks, which was cut by passing trains. Kiewiński explained that the examination of the premises and analysis of the evidence were inactive ongoing. The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs assured that from the first minutes all the services were in place and secured the evidence. A squad was besides formed, consisting of representatives of the prosecutor's office, the Central Bureau of Police Investigation and the interior safety Agency.
Tomasz Siemoniak, a coordinator of peculiar services, acknowledged: "The probability of this happening on behalf of abroad services is very high". The Minister stressed that the investigation in this case was addressed to the best officers and specialists to scope the principals. He besides pointed out that Polish services are in contact with allies. “We are in close contact with the Polish authorities, but at this point we gotta wait for the results of the investigation,” said NATO chief Mark Rutte, at a conference at the office of the Alliance today.
Preparatory action on acts of diversion shall be carried out by the Mazowiecki Branch of the National Prosecutor's Office. "Two provisions of the Criminal Code are involved: Article 130, par. 7, which speaks of diversion and Article 174 of the Criminal Code, namely the effort to origin a disaster in land traffic," said Waldemar Żurek, Minister of Justice. He recalled that, in accordance with the penal code, diversion acts are subject to imprisonment over 10 years, including life imprisonment.
According to the Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak, the Warsaw- Lublin line is mobile and repairs of damaged sections continue.
