Two ambulances for fresh Town infirmary over Pilica

Today, the Independent Public wellness Care Department in fresh Town over Pilica was enriched by 2 modern ambulances, cardiomonitors and ECG cameras. The equipment was purchased under the government's "Civil Defence and civilian Protection Programme for the years 2025-2026". Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz attended the gathering with the staff of the facility.

It is worth noting that the SPZOZ in the fresh Town over Pilica from the same origin already received 2 modern ambulances last December. The facility besides received cardiomonitors, ECG cameras, treatment and resuscitation carts, fiberoscope, vacuum mattresses, rescue backpacks, cardiomonitors, as well as a colonoscope and a gastroscope. Powiat Grójecki, in cooperation with the hospital, besides submitted a grant application to the Mazovia Voivodeship under the Military-friendly infirmary Programme. It was positively considered – the facility received PLN 2.5 million for retrofitting.

“The Military Friendly Hospitals Program is my initiative, implemented in the Ministry of Defence. Before that, no action was taken that would presume not only the reconstruction and strengthening of the military wellness service, in which we are investing intensively today, including by expanding the Military Medical Institute at Szaserów Street and military hospitals all over the country, but besides a systemic link to civilian wellness protection," stressed Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The Minister of National Defence recalled that building medical troops is another pillar of these activities. – No 1 has previously begun to build this capacity in the field of combat and disaster medicine, embedded in the structures of 1 of the largest NATO army – the Polish Army. Medical troops become a fact, and their effectiveness requires close cooperation with civilian wellness services," said the head of the Defence Ministry.

Government support programmes

The civilian Protection and civilian Defence Programme for the years 2025-2026 was adopted by the Council of Ministers last May. This is the first specified program in Poland to increase the safety of our people in the event of crisis, disaster or war. Almost PLN 34 billion is foreseen for its implementation. The programme besides focuses primarily on the safety of people and adequate preparation for "black scenarios". For example, hospitals may apply for support.

On the another hand, the program of the Ministry of Defence entitled "Army-friendly Hospitals" started a year ago. It aims to strengthen cooperation between the military and civilian medical institutions and public administration, primarily in the event of war or crisis. As part of the programme in 2025 and 2026, training is organised for management staff and their founding bodies in voivodships under the work of medical safety areas. The program is voluntary and its accession is done by the infirmary submitting a letter to the Ministry of National Defence.

In the first phase of the program, respective out of more than 300 districts participated, and MON cooperation agreements with civilian wellness entities were signed by 25 hospitals. Last October, during the conference “Army-friendly Hospitals” held at the Jeżewo Training Centre close Łódź, contracts were signed with 102 another civilian wellness entities.
