In the 1st Armored Brigade in Wesoła, the last cuts before the Holy Polish Army. Soldiers wash and tank tanks, inspect equipment, practice the crossing in front of the honorary grandstand. In order for the training to take place in the conditions as close as possible to those in which the military will defilate, the lanes of the Warsaw way and the bleacher were mapped on the exercise square.
A group of dense equipment to be presented during the parade was organized in the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade. Already in early August, modern weapons were transported from all over Poland, besides utilized by allies, including Abramsy M1A2 SepV2. For 2 weeks in Wesoła, soldiers practiced utilizing about 300 pieces of equipment from over 20 units in the country. Starting from light vehicles from the resources of the Military Gendarmerie or territorial defence troops, through equipment of air-desert units to artillery wagons, tanks, Raki or Crabs.
Almost like on the Wisłostrad
Three Wisłostrady lanes and a grandstand were mapped around the unit. The spokesperson for the Warsaw battleships Captain Jacek Piotrowski explained that the training process was divided into 2 parts. “First, the focus was on collecting the activity of subdivisions, maintaining the distance between vehicles that were moving at low speed, or 5–7 km/h,” said the officer. This phase continued until the general rehearsal, which was conducted on the weekend on Wisłostrad. There was besides a practice of moving into turns and working on interior communication. – The general rehearsal showed that everything played as it should have – indicated the brigade spokesperson. Now the military are only honing the same skills at higher speeds, due to the fact that about 8–10 km per hour. That's the rate they'll be driving during the parade.
Captain Piotrowski assured that soldiers were besides prepared for various emergency situations. He stressed that what would be seen during the parade would be the consequence of a large logistics project. As of Thursday afternoon, the equipment will drive or be carried on more than 90 low chassis kits in the Wisłostrada area. The action is scheduled to end on Friday around 6 a.m.
Adrenaline and arsenal
The soldiers emphasize that this is not the end of their preparations. The exercises were exhausting, but they are happy for the upcoming festival. I think we're getting adrenaline the most. We can't wait – admits Abrams M1A2 SepV3 tank commander. He adds that it was essential to assemble the company – 14 Abrams and adjust the velocity of the full column to the vehicles driving in front of them, namely Leopards and K2 tanks. “But we dealt with it rather quickly,” says the lieutenant.
Also the commander of the S8 200 mineboat in the rank of elder Petty Officer estimates that the preparations went smoothly. He came to the parade for the first time, along with a group of bomb divers who are stationed in Świnoujście. As he says, it is crucial that sailors open this year's march due to the fact that it emphasizes the rank of the Navy and reminds that it operates in all environment – in water, land and air.
This year, the Vislostradas will first pass Abrams in the latest version of M1A2 Sep V 3, which will, among others, represent the 1st Armored Brigade. The first time will besides be the reconnaissance Iguanas, or the Polishized Kia KLTV vehicles of Korean production.
All those who will come to Wisłostrady on August 15 will be able to admire the K2, Leopardy 2PL, BWP, M2A3 Bradley and Geiger B2L tanks. But besides Rosomaki, Baobab-K mine-mining vehicles and WR-40 Langusta rocket launchers, crabs and far-reaching viper designation vehicles. The streets of the capital will besides be visited by anti-aircraft artillery sets WD-95 and elements of the unmanned search and impact strategy Gladius. The Polish Army Festival will be an chance to watch a full of 50 aircraft and 300 units of state-of-the-art army equipment.
