FEAST OF THE 7TH CSWOT

On Friday (30.05.2025) a solemn appeal was held on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the Center for Territorial Defence Training. During the ceremony, awards and awards were presented to the most well-deserved soldiers and CSWOT staff. The celebrations ended with a performance of the Toruń Military Orchestra.

The CSWOT celebration was organized in accordance with the military ceremony at the accompaniment of the military orchestra from Toruń. It was an perfect chance to thank the soldiers and workers for their contribution to the various trainings and courses, in which the Territorials from all the Territorial Defence Brigades from all over the country participate all day.

The Christmas date is not random. It was on 30 May 1919 that the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces in the erstwhile Prussian occupation, infantry general Józef Dowbor-Muśnicki ordered the creation of 63th Toruń firearm Regiment in Inowrocław, whose traditions and customs of the Training Centre for Territorial Defence are heirs. This regiment was formed by volunteers from Pomerania, who crossed the German border in early 1919 to join the ranks of Polish troops in the territory free from the Germans of Wielkopolska. Their goal was to regain the lands of Toruń and Western Prussia. As early as 15 January 1920, the regiment fought its first winning conflict at Gniewkowo, beginning its way to Toruń.

During the authoritative celebrations, awards and awards were presented to the most merited soldiers and CSWOT staff. Especially distinguished were soldiers who represented Poland in the global competition "The Best Warrior", winning second place in terms of the best Private and Petty Officer. The ceremony was besides an excellent chance to award the CSWOT distance training section for classes I for the best e-learning course.

The event was besides attended by many commanders of another military units, uniformed services and representatives of local authorities. Speeches were given, among others, by the deputy voivode of Kujawsko-Pomeranian Michał Koniuch, the commander of WOT Brig. Gen. Dr. Krzysztof Stańczyk and the commander of CSWOT Colonel Dr. Przemysław Żukowski. In their statements, they proudly stressed the function and improvement of the training centre in shaping the modern personnel of the Polish Army.

The ceremony culminated in a joint performance of the Toruń Military Orchestra with the participation of soloist Judith Wendy. The arrangements made by them elevated the rank of the celebrations and delighted the gathered guests.
