Many countries are very much discussing the restoration of compulsory military service. This issue is raised, among others, by German chadeks, from which the current German Chancellor Friedrich Merz derives. The thought was addressed by SPD-based German defence minister Boris Pistorius. In his opinion, the fast introduction of compulsory military service is simply a bad idea. He did not regulation out transition to specified a model if volunteers were besides few.
