The withdrawal from the Donbas industrial region would have serious military, humanitarian and economical consequences for Ukraine. Following the American-Russian summit in Alaska, Russia demands the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk circuits in exchange for freezing the situation on another fronts. The United States besides exerts force on Kiev in this direction.
Military: failure of defence line
The resignation of Ukraine from Donbas would mean that Russia would gain without a fight territories that it had failed to get not only since 2022, but besides since 2014.
